Norwegian flew just over 20 percent fewer passengers in November than the airline did during the same month last year.
Norwegian's revenue per passenger kilometer (RPK) fell by 23 percent in November, while the company's total capacity (ASK) was down 27 percent. At the same time, the cabin factor rose 4.2 percentage points to 83.0 percent, according to a press release.
Overall, Norwegian flew 2.28 million passengers during the month, which was a decline of 21 percent.
Traffic figures showed that unit revenue increased for the eighth consecutive month while capacity decreased, which is in line with the company's strategy.
”"I am very pleased that we continue to deliver increased unit revenue, higher load factor and improved punctuality. The planned capacity reduction has a positive impact on the figures, fully in line with our strategy of moving from growth to profitability," says Geir Karlsen, Acting CEO and CFO at Norwegian.
