The Norwegian equivalent of the Swedish Competition Authority approves the airline Norwegian's purchase of competitor Widerøe for SEK 1.1 billion.

– We have come to the conclusion that the purchase does not in any way significantly harm competition in the Norwegian aviation market, says Tina Søreide, head of the Norwegian Competition Authority.

The deal was announced last summer. Widerøe, previously owned by SAS, primarily operates domestic traffic in Norway.
