In December 2025, Norwegian had 1.45 million passengers while Widerøe had 304,000 passengers, for a total of 1.75 million passengers for the group. Both airlines had stable operational performance with both improved regularity and punctuality. During the full year 2025, Norwegian and Widerøe had 27.3 million passengers combined.
“We are pleased to end the year with stable December figures. For the full year 2025, we have seen a significant increase in passenger numbers, which shows that customers appreciate a broad route network spanning both airlines,” says Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen.
Norwegian's capacity (ASK) was 2,374 million seat kilometers in December, a decrease of 5 percent compared to December 2024. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 2,014 million seat kilometers, a decrease of 2 percent compared to the same period last year. The load factor was 84.8 percent, up 2.7 percentage points from December 2024. In December, Norwegian had an average of 74 aircraft in operation.
Despite occasionally challenging winter weather, both airlines have had stable operations in December, even during the travel-intensive Christmas period. Regularity, which measures the proportion of flights completed, was 99.6 percent for Norwegian and 95.7 percent for Widerøe, an increase of 0.8 and 7.1 percentage points respectively. Punctuality, which measures the proportion of departures that depart within 15 minutes of the regular schedule, was 82.0 percent for Norwegian and 84.1 percent for Widerøe.
– The New Year's sale is underway and it is the most important and largest sales period of the year. So far, the response has been good and the campaign will continue during the month. The booking trend going forward looks stable and we are now fully focused on the rest of the winter program. But at the same time, we are looking forward to the summer program, which will be the most extensive in several years, continues Geir Karlsen.
Widerøe's capacity (ASK) was 161 million seat kilometers in December, an increase of 6 percent from December 2024. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 108 million seat kilometers while the load factor was 67.2 percent, down 6.1 percentage points compared to December of the previous year. Widerøe set a new passenger record with 4.13 million passengers for the full year 2025. Widerøe publishes its own traffic figures, which are available on the airline's website.
