The Norwegian Group had a total of 2.8 million passengers in June. Of these, 2.4 million traveled with Norwegian and 404,000 with regional airline Widerøe, which also set a new passenger record for a single month.

Both airlines increased both capacity and passenger numbers compared to June 2025.

– I am pleased that the number of passengers has increased at both airlines in June. Norwegian has a capacity growth of eight percent while Widerøe has set a new passenger record with over 400,000 passengers in one month. The cabin factor is slightly lower than expected, but we are looking forward to a travel-intensive summer with several new routes, says Norwegian's CEO Geir Karlsen.

Norwegian increased its capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), by eight percent to 3,991 million. Traffic, measured in passenger kilometers (RPK), increased by two percent to 3,337 million. The load factor was 83.6 percent, a decrease of 4.8 percentage points compared to the same month last year, mainly due to the increased capacity.

Regularity remained high with 99.3 percent of flights completed, while punctuality amounted to 79.4 percent, meaning that nearly eight out of ten flights departed within 15 minutes of schedule.

– We are now preparing for the most travel-intensive month of the year and see good demand for both sun and city trips from the Nordic countries. At the same time, interest in so-called ”coolcations” continues, where travelers from the rest of Europe seek out the Nordic countries during the summer. With over 500 flights per day and few canceled departures, our travelers can feel confident about reaching their destinations, says Geir Karlsen.

Widerøe also continued to grow. The airline increased capacity by seven percent and passenger traffic by three percent compared to June 2025. The cabin factor amounted to 78.1 percent. At the same time, punctuality improved to 92.8 percent, an increase of 3.7 percentage points compared to the same month last year, while regularity landed at 98.5 percent.
