In April, Norwegian had 1,931,550 passengers while Widerøe had 334,228 passengers, for a total of 2,265,778 passengers for the group. Capacity growth has stabilised compared to previous months, while the load factor increased by 3.2 percentage points compared to the same month last year. Norwegian's operational performance continues to be stable and bookings for the summer look promising.

– We are very pleased with the passenger numbers and operations in April. Easter contributed positively to a solid cabin factor despite having 25 percent higher capacity in April this year compared to last year. We are also proud that Widerøe set a record for passenger numbers in a single day and that they did so twice in April, says Norwegian's CEO Geir Karlsen.

Norwegian's capacity (ASK) was 3,194 million seat kilometers in April, up 1 percent compared to last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 2,669 million seat kilometers, up 5 percent. The load factor was 83.6 percent, up 3.2 percentage points. In April, Norwegian had an average of 82 aircraft in operation.

Widerøe had an ASK of 174 million seat kilometers in April, a decrease of 2 percent compared to last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 125 million seat kilometers while the load factor was 71.8 percent, an increase of 7.7 percentage points.

Punctuality, which measures the proportion of departures that depart within 15 minutes of the regular schedule, was 88.1 percent for Norwegian and 85.5 percent for Widerøe. In April, Norwegian operated 99.6 percent of all scheduled flights while Widerøe operated 94.5 percent of scheduled flights.

Stable operational performance and booking trend
Throughout April, including the travel-intensive Easter, Norwegian continued with stable operational operations.

– I am proud of all colleagues who continue to ensure a high level of punctuality and regularity. It bodes well for the summer, which has more bookings than last year. We are ready for a travel-intensive summer season with both aircraft and crew in place, continues Geir Karlsen.

In April, Norwegian and Strawberry announced that Reitan Retail would become a new partner and co-owner of the joint loyalty currency Spenn. During the launch, Geir Karlsen said:
– This will give Norwegian's, Strawberry's and Reitan Retail's customers even more and better opportunities in the future.

According to the press release.
