In October, Norwegian carried 2.25 million passengers, while Widerøe carried 389,000. The group carried 2.64 million passengers in total, up 3 percent from last year. On October 28, the very first 737 MAX 8 aircraft from Norwegian's Boeing order for 80 aircraft landed at Oslo Gardermoen Airport.

– October has been good for the entire Norwegian Group. The month began with us winning the tender for the Danish domestic route with a high blend of biofuel, and ended with welcoming the first of 80 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to Oslo. We are very pleased with the traffic figures for October, especially the cabin factor for both airlines. Both Norwegian and Widerøe had good punctuality during the month, which is very important for our customers. We are prepared for the winter with a route network that is adapted to demand. In the coming period, we will focus on further measures through «Program X», which, in combination with capacity adjustments, will contribute to better results during the low season, says Norwegian’s CEO Geir Karlsen.
Norwegian's capacity (ASK) in October was 3,464 million seat kilometers, up 1 percent from last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 3,025 million seat kilometers, also up 1 percent. The cabin load factor was 87.3 percent, up 0.5 percentage points. Norwegian had an average of 86 aircraft in operation in October.
Widerøe's capacity (ASK) was 195 million seat kilometers, an increase of 1 percent from last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 143 million seat kilometers while the load factor was 73.4 percent, down 0.3 percentage points.
Punctuality, which measures the proportion of departures that depart within 15 minutes of the regular schedule, was 84.7 percent for Norwegian and 88.7 percent for Widerøe. In October, Norwegian operated 99.5 percent of its scheduled flights while Widerøe operated 96.7 percent of its flights.
The winter program is underway
On October 26, Norwegian's winter program for 2025 started, which includes six new routes.
– We have been looking forward to the winter program, especially being able to offer even more routes to winter-warm destinations that are always well received by our Nordic passengers. The booking trend remains good and there are more bookings this year than last year. There is a high demand for travel during the Christmas period and we urge everyone planning to travel during the holiday to book tickets as early as possible, continues Geir Karlsen.
