Norwegian increased its passenger numbers by 948 percent to 643,089 in February, compared to the same month a year earlier. The month before, growth was 759 percent to 637,376 passengers.
If traffic is measured in revenue passenger kilometers, RPK, the airline increased by 1,958 percent during the month (1,640).
Capacity, measured as ASK, increased by 864 percent in February (795).
The cabin load factor was 81.3 percent in February (69.7).
”February is usually a month with lower travel activity, but the number of travelers has been stable since January. We are particularly pleased that our aircraft have an occupancy rate of over 81 percent. When society opened up again, we immediately noticed an increased demand for air travel. We will have an extensive summer program this year to meet the demand from many who want to get out and travel,” says Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian NAS -2,89% .
