The strike threat has been called off.
After a long night of negotiations, the airline Norwegian and the pilots' union (NPU) have reached an agreement, NTB reports.
It was supposed to be finished by midnight at the latest, but that didn't happen. Instead, there was a long night of negotiations, with threats from the union that the pilots would go on strike on Saturday morning.
But just before half past six in the morning the news came: The parties have agreed.
”"I am glad that we have reached an agreement, so that we can avoid a strike and look forward. First and foremost, it is fun for everyone who will travel with us. Now we look forward to the summer and to welcoming all travelers on board," says Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen to NTB.
The negotiation has covered many parts, but the most important for the pilots were working hours and pay.
