Norwegian Air Shuttle reported a 124 percent increase in passenger traffic (RPK) in July 2021, compared to the same period the previous year, according to a press release.

Revenue per passenger kilometer, measured as ASK, was NOK 0.58 (0.90) per month, which is a decrease of 35 percent year-on-year.

Norwegian's revenue per available seat kilometer (RASK) was 0.43 Norwegian kroner, a decrease of 29 percent compared to July last year.

Capacity (ASK) increased by 104 percent during the period, compared to the same month last year, and the load factor was 74.4 percent, an increase of 7 percentage points year-on-year.

The improvements are driven by eased travel restrictions and quarantine rules, and a greater proportion of the population has been vaccinated.

”In July, we saw the highest number of ticket orders since the social lockdowns in March last year. Customers have been aware that the travel experience is somewhat different, and they have been well prepared for rules and requirements for both entry and exit,” notes CEO Geir Karlsen.
