Norwegian will inaugurate its first direct route between Copenhagen and Tbilisi on June 27, 2026. This is the first time that the Georgian capital will receive direct flights from the Nordic region – a step that is expected to make travel easier for both tourists and business travelers.
The Georgia National Tourism Administration welcomes the news of Norwegian’s new route between Denmark and Tbilisi. The route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will take approximately 4.5 hours from Copenhagen to Tbilisi.
“This new route represents an important step in strengthening Georgia’s connections with Northern Europe and creating more opportunities for cultural exchange, growing tourism and business collaborations,” said Maia Omiadze, Head of the Georgia National Tourism Administration.
The fact that Scandinavia's second largest airline now reaches Tbilisi is being hailed as a strategic gain. The Ministry of Economy and Sustainability of Georgia has identified the Scandinavian countries as one of the most important markets in the process of developing the aviation and tourism sectors. Norwegian's direct route enables both business and leisure travel from Northern Europe, which will broaden Georgia's visibility in a region where direct access has been limited until now.
Previously, travelers from Scandinavia have only been able to travel directly to Kutaisi International Airport. The connection to Tbilisi has required at least one change and a travel time of between seven and eleven hours.
