Norwegian had over 2 million passengers in September. Regularity was particularly high at 99.7, the highest since the pandemic.
– September was another good month for Norwegian. We had over 2 million passengers and the operational performance is among the top in Europe. Regularity is the strongest in 18 months and we carried out almost 100 percent of all planned flights while punctuality also improved. Stable and efficient operations provide predictability for all customers who choose to fly with us, says Norwegian's CEO Geir Karlsen.
Norwegian carried 2,030,052 passengers in September, up 8 percent from the same month last year. Capacity (ASK) was 3,208 million seat kilometers while actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 2,696 million seat kilometers. In September, Norwegian had an average of 80 aircraft in operation and 99.7 percent of scheduled flights were operated. Staffing challenges at London Gatwick and national strikes in Italy were the reason for most flights not operating as planned. Punctuality, which measures the percentage of departures within 15 minutes of the regular schedule, was 84.6 percent in September.
– We are at the beginning of the winter program and are adjusting our operations to adapt to a quieter travel period. A clear trend is that destinations in Southern Europe continue to be in demand with good booking figures. At the same time, city breaks in Eastern Europe have become more popular this autumn, Karlsen continues.
