The last three months have been a nail-biter for both the staff at Karlstad Airport and returning Alicante travelers.
Everyone has been waiting for an announcement for 2018 and today it came, unfortunately it was negative.
– Norwegian would like to continue investing in and developing the route network to and from Karlstad, but with an aviation tax it will unfortunately be too costly for us to maintain the Karlstad–Alicante route, says Charlotte Holmbergh Jacobsson, Head of Information at Norwegian.
The new flight tax will be introduced on April 1st this year and will increase airlines' costs per one-way trip by several hundred kronor depending on the length of the trip. For Alicante, the tax will entail an extra cost of 560 kronor round trip.
