The first domestic flights were celebrated in Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Mendoza with representatives from national and local authorities on site, including Argentina's Minister of Transport Guillermo Dietrich.
This means that these cities are now closer together by giving more people the opportunity to fly. Thanks to Norwegian, flying is becoming easier,” says Argentina's Minister of Transport Guillermo Dietrich.
Norwegian has been well received in Argentina, both by local and national authorities, the tourism industry and the people of Argentina. Norwegian's investment has also resulted in significant media attention.
– This is a big day for Norwegian and I would like to thank everyone at Norwegian who has made a fantastic effort to make this happen. Argentina and South America have enormous potential and we will contribute to increased tourism, more jobs and economic growth in Argentina where the range of flight routes has been limited. Our goal is for everyone to have the opportunity to fly and these routes now make it possible to travel between several cities in Argentina at a low price. We now look forward to welcoming many new passengers on board our modern, comfortable and more environmentally friendly aircraft, says Norwegian's CEO Bjørn Kjos.
Norwegian also offers direct flights between London Gatwick and Buenos Aires four times a week with the company's 787 Dreamliner. Norwegian flies daily to London Gatwick from Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo, which means that Scandinavians can also fly to Buenos Aires.
