After a few cooler days, the ”African heat” is coming.

Temperatures are expected to reach 30 degrees on Tuesday.

– And tomorrow the warmest air will arrive, says Alexandra Ohlsson, meteorologist at SMHI.

Today, the "African high pressure" is starting to sweep over Sweden, according to SMHI. But it's not until tomorrow that the real heat will arrive, with temperatures of over 33 degrees.

– Warm air has started to come in over Sweden and move into the country, but even if Tuesday will be warm with up to 30 degrees in the south, tomorrow will be the warmest air, says Alexandra Ohlsson, meteorologist at SMHI, to TT.

Tropical heat in the north
Some parts of the country may get extra hot in the coming days.

– It may happen that the wind changes and then it will be even warmer, especially down towards the western parts of Götaland and the West Coast. Svealand can expect 30 degrees and even though it is a little cooler in Norrland, Gävleborg will have temperatures of around 26-29 degrees, says Alexandra Ohlsson.

The northern coast of Norrland will also experience tropical heat, with 25 degrees, and inland it will be around 20-23 degrees before the whole country cools down around Thursday.

– The warm wind will move on to Finland and Russia on Thursday, but it will probably still be quite warm in Sweden on Thursday, says Alexandra Ohlsson.
