Starting now, Wednesday, March 5, it is possible to buy tickets for all SJ trains within Sweden for the period June 10–August 31. At the same time, tickets for SJ's night train to Hamburg will be released for the period September 1–November 30.
Summer is an intense travel period on Swedish railways. This becomes especially clear when SJ releases the summer train travel schedule.
– Summer tickets are always popular, so if you want to secure your ticket at the lowest price possible, my advice is to book as early as possible, says Sofie Struwe, Director of Commercial Traffic at SJ.
In addition to pure holiday travel, many people choose to take the train to summer concerts and festivals. It's made extra easy with SJ's special festival trains.
– If you are planning to visit Sweden Rock or Way out west, I would recommend booking a trip on one of our festival trains, a nice way to extend the whole experience.
Many people choose the train for their longer trips out into Europe, which is also noticeable during the autumn. Starting today, it is possible to book tickets to Hamburg until November 30th.
“We are seeing increased interest in train travel to Europe. That is why we have extended the autumn booking period for our night trains to Hamburg,” says Sofie Struwe.
Some departures during the current period will be blocked for purchase as the Swedish Transport Administration plans for track work. As SJ receives information about how the trains can run, these tickets will also be released.
