Ahead of this year's Oktoberfest, Swedes' flight searches to Munich via momondo have increased by 277 % compared to the previous month - and 26 % compared to the same period in 2024. Interest in the folk festival is also increasing globally, with almost five times more searches from France, four times more from the USA and three times more from Denmark.

– Oktoberfest attracts millions of visitors every year. The increase in flight searches shows that many want to experience the atmosphere of the beer tents and the Bavarian community., says Julie Thomsen, PR manager at momondo.

• Bring cash - "Cash is king" in Germany
• Learn to order beer: one liter = ”"a measure"”
• Feel free to dance on the bench (not on the tables!)
• Be kind to the wait staff and leave a tip.

• Don't bring large bags – they are prohibited.
• Don't underestimate the beer – It's brewed especially for Oktoberfest and stronger than regular beer
