Norwegian will not survive as a single airline.
This is what Ryanair's often controversial CEO Michael O'Leary tells Reuters.
Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair.
The statement comes after the Norwegian competitor announced earlier on Tuesday that it was taking out loans to survive financially after IAG withdrew from its plans to buy the company.
This is not the first time Michael O'Leary has criticized his Norwegian competitor. A year ago, he predicted that Norwegian NAS -14.6% would not survive.
Norwegian's shares plunged 30 percent in opening trading in Oslo, but were trading at 11:40 a.m. just under 12 percent down.
