Tourists are avoiding summer trips to Paris because of the Olympic Games in the French capital, according to French airline Air France.

Higher ticket prices and a high risk of traffic disruptions are scaring away many potential Paris visitors, according to the French airline, which estimates the setback at a loss of revenue of 160-180 million euros (1.8-2.0 billion SEK) during the summer season from June to August.

The Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11, and demand for "regular" Paris travel looks set to increase after that, according to Air France.

Air France has faced headwinds on the Paris Stock Exchange this year and has lost 39 percent of its market value since the turn of the year.
