Scandic Go is a central part of Scandic's growth plans. Today, the doors of Norway's first Scandic Go opened in the heart of central Oslo. The hotel is designed for the modern traveler looking for an affordable accommodation option in the heart of the city.

The opening of Scandic Go Grensen 20 marks the start of the Scandic Go brand in Norway. The 96-room hotel is located in close proximity to everything the capital has to offer. It is the first Scandic Go in Norway, but as previously announced, more establishments are on the way in Tromsø and Stavanger.

– Today is not only the start of a new hotel, but of a new brand in Norway. The establishment of Scandic Go allows us to broaden our offering and reach even more guests. Norway is an attractive market for both national and international tourists, and now we are launching a new hotel experience that meets the needs of the price-conscious, urban traveler in a new way. With Scandic Go, we can combine central location, efficient operations and positive guest experiences – and at the same time contribute to increased activity and value creation in the cities where we establish ourselves, says COO for Scandic Hotels Norway, Asle Prestegard.

The day marked the hotel opening with a ribbon cutting, speeches, food and drinks for invited guests from Scandic, property owner Ragde Eiendom, local businesses and hotel employees. Several guests also checked in for their first night at the newly opened hotel.

– It was fantastic to finally be able to open the doors and welcome our first guests. This is a day we have been looking forward to for a long time. We have created a hotel that is simple, smart and flexible, something I think our guests will appreciate. We offer a modern hotel experience where guests can adapt their stay to their own wishes and needs, and enjoy both the hotel and the city in their own way, says Hospitality Manager for Scandic Go Grensen 20, Marta Person.

With Scandic Go, the ambition is to take a leading position in the rapidly growing economy segment, in line with our long-term growth plan. Like the majority of Scandic's hotels, Scandic Go Grensen 20 is also Nordic Ecolabelled. This means that the hotel meets very strict requirements for climate, resource use and chemicals. A Nordic Ecolabelled hotel is a better choice for both the guest and the environment.

According to the press release.
