Pop-up saunas everywhere. Sauna in the Eurovision Song Contest. Sauna in international media. Saunas are a hot trend right now, but we haven't experienced an outdoor sauna on the waves of the Baltic Sea yet. Except this summer, when a six-person sauna opens on the sun deck aboard the Viking XPRS.
Between Helsinki and Tallinn, you can enjoy the Baltic Sea's most exotic sauna during the summer. On the sun deck aboard the Viking XPRS, a sauna will open on June 6, where a maximum of six people can enjoy a sauna from capital to capital. The sauna can be booked on every Viking XPRS departure and is hot immediately when the ship leaves the quay. The sauna also has its own terrace area where you can cool off and enjoy the sea view, for example in a sun lounger.
”New sauna concepts are constantly opening all over Finland – why not also on the Baltic Sea. The idea of a sauna on the open deck started as an April Fool’s joke, and then our partner Hartwall became enthusiastic about the idea and wanted to implement it with us. The unique XPRS Original Long Drink Sauna on deck 7 has borrowed its shape from a Long Drink can, and the price of a two-hour booking includes a bucket filled with grey sauna drinks,” says Ossi Ruusunen, Viking Line's Beverage Manager.
Sauna time is booked in advance when booking your trip. The booking includes a cabin where you can shower and change from the bathrobe, which is included in the sauna price, to your own clothes.
”I believe that sauna bathing on board is of interest to all our customers, from groups of friends to families. Sauna is now a hot trend internationally as well, and the number of foreign tourists on the Tallinn route is constantly growing. Now our international guests can combine two genuinely Finnish experiences: cruising and sauna!” says Ossi Ruusunen.

• The price for a two-hour sauna session is 60 euros, advance booking mandatory (can also be booked on board if the sauna is available)
• A maximum of 6 people can swim at the same time
• VIP area has its own table, benches and sun loungers
• Cabin for changing clothes and shower included, available for 2.5 hours until arrival at the port.
• Bathrobe and slippers are available for loan.
• Price includes a bucket of 6 Long Drink cans
