Just over 1.6 million flew with Norwegian in May

The number of passengers flying with Norwegian increased to just over 1.6 million in May. The previous month, the company flew around 1.4 million passengers.

A total of 1,628,040 people flew with Norwegian in May, which compares to 96,909 people in the same month last year.

”"The number of passengers is increasing from month to month and the company is registering that bookings continue to increase ahead of the summer and school holidays. Many have already booked trips to typical sun and beach destinations and recently more people are booking trips to major cities in Europe. In May, the company opened several routes to meet demand," writes Norwegian.

Traffic measured as revenue passenger kilometers, RPK, increased by 3,316 percent during the month (4,002).

Capacity, measured as ASK, increased by 2,264 percent in May (2,098).

The cabin load factor, which is a measure of how well-filled the aircraft are, amounted to 79.2 percent in May (78.7).
