Alapnes most recently comes from the role of CEO and hotel director for one of the Clarion chain's flagship hotels, Clarion Hotel The Edge in Tromsø, and is now taking on the role of head of one of the Nordic region's most popular hotel chains.

Øyvind Alapnes began his career at Nordic Choice Hotels in 2012, as Director of Clarion Collection Hotel With in Tromsø. In 2014, he was appointed Hotel Director for the new Clarion hotel in Tromsø, Clarion Hotel The Edge, with a prime location on the quay in the city centre. Both hotels are at the top of TripAdvisor's list of the most popular hotels in Tromsø. During his time at Nordic Choice Hotels, Alapnes received the “General Manager of the Year” award. This award is presented annually to a Hotel Director who has distinguished themselves with extraordinary results and good leadership qualities.
