The police were alerted on Sunday morning about an operation at Bromma Airport in Stockholm.

– A group of people have been in the airport area and in connection with that sprayed paint on an airplane, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson for the police.

According to police, 17 or 18 people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

– They are suspected of airport sabotage, says Per Fahlström. 

Climate activists have taken on the action and write in a press release that the action is part of a "global campaign demanding a ban on private jets.". 

At the airport, a hangar owned by a company that operates taxi and ambulance flights has been sprayed with paint. . 

– It did not affect regular traffic, says Robert Pletzin, press manager at Swedavia.
