Norwegian's passenger numbers in August increased by 10 percent compared to August last year. This represents a slight increase compared to July, when the increase was 9 percent year-on-year.
The cabin load factor, that is, how well-filled the aircraft are, fell to 85.7 percent, down from 92.5 percent in July. However, compared to August last year, it was a marginal increase.
”"I am very pleased that the positive trend from July continued in August. We have had a significant increase in capacity and at the same time managed to increase both the load factor and revenue per passenger kilometer from August 2023," comments Norwegian's CEO Geir Karlsen.
Norwegian also reports strong bookings for the fall and winter. With the launch of several routes in an already extensive network, there is much to suggest that it will be a busy fall for the company, the airline writes.
”"The autumn season was well received by customers. It is pleasing to see positive booking figures for the autumn and winter season, which offers a good mix of popular routes and new, exciting destinations. The autumn holiday weeks look to be really hectic, and flights to the most popular holiday destinations are filling up quickly," says Geir Karlsen.
