Passport becomes SL ticket for Ukrainian refugees

Remove

A valid Ukrainian passport will become a travel document for Stockholm's public transport. The decision is part of an act of solidarity taken jointly by cities, regions and transport companies across Europe. The aim is to support the people who are now fleeing Ukraine and facilitate their journeys to safety from the Russian invasion.

– I want us to take our responsibility and do our part for those fleeing the war. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. We want to support those who are now fleeing the Russian invasion and make it easier for them to travel to safety in free Europe, says Kristoffer Tamsons, traffic regional councilor and chairman of SL.

– We offer people the opportunity to travel on public transport in Stockholm with a Ukrainian passport. So that those who have now fled can get to their new home and get a little help in establishing themselves in Sweden, Tomas Eriksson (MP), regional councilor for the environment and public transport.
