This has resulted in a lot of people currently applying for passports, and some expeditions have a waiting time of up to seven weeks.

The police are therefore appealing to people who are not traveling this summer to wait with their passport application.

”"If you are not planning to travel during the summer, you can wait with the application," the authority wrote in a press release published on Wednesday.
