Båstad's business community with 27 well-known private individuals and companies is buying into Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport, writes the newspaper Bjärenu.se.

Among the financiers are Erik Paulsson-controlled Båstad Tennis & Hotell AB, Lindab and Christer Gardell.

Båstad Municipality recently sold half of its holding to Båstad Turism & Näringsliv Holding AB, which owns 4.9 percent of the airport. The financing is being done by private individuals and companies together contributing the purchase price of 2.5 million kronor, writes Bjärenu.se

”"I believe that it is of utmost importance that the airport remains - it is one of the conditions for us at Lindab and other large companies to be able to conduct business on the Bjäre peninsula in the long term. Among other things, it is about making it easy for our customers and suppliers to travel to us when they visit our factories in Bjäre. But the airport is also needed so that we can attract the absolute best employees and secure access to expertise," says Joakim Lönnberg, Regional Manager Northern Europe at Lindab, to the newspaper.

Investors have invested between SEK 25,000 and SEK 1 million, with Båstad Tennis & Hotell contributing the largest amount, which was loaned interest-free and unconditionally to the newly formed company.

”"I am both happy and proud of this unique solution. When we negotiated about the airport, it was safe to know that the business community in our municipality both saw the value of keeping the airport and were prepared to join us as owners," says the chairman of the municipal board, Johan Olsson Swanstein (M).
