The Board of Directors of Tallink Grupp has appointed Peep Jalakas as the new CEO and Chairman of the Group Executive Management. He will take office on 6 April 2026 for a three-year term. At the same time, Margus Schults will leave the Group Executive Management Team as of 27 February, but will continue as CEO of the Finnish subsidiary Tallink Silja Oy.
– Tallink Grupp is a strong and sustainable international company, and our stable market position together with many years of experience provides a solid foundation for continued development. The decision to appoint Peep Jalakas as the new CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board reflects our ambition to continue the company's strategic growth, strengthen our competitiveness in a changing environment and create long-term value for our shareholders. As Peep Jalakas has deep expertise in the financial sector, Margus Schults, who is currently responsible for this area in the Group Management, will return to Finland full-time where he will continue as CEO of Tallink Silja Oy, says Enn Pant, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tallink Grupp.
The incoming CEO Peep Jalakas has been Head of Corporate Banking at AS SEB Pank and a member of the bank's management team since 2023. Over the past 20 years, he has held several senior positions within SEB, including responsibility for corporate customer operations and the credit department.
– It is both a great honor and a significant responsibility to step into the management of the region's leading player in maritime transport. In my previous roles in the banking sector, I have worked with Tallink and know that the company is run by a committed and highly professional team. I really look forward to contributing to Tallink Grupp's continued development, says Peep Jalakas, who joins Tallink Grupp.
Tallink Grupp's current CEO, Paavo Nõgene, announced his resignation last week but will remain in the Group Management until 22 May, after Peep Jalakas has taken over. The Group Management will continue to consist of Piret Mürk‑Dubout, Elise Nassar and Harri Hanschmidt.
