A person has died after being caught in an aircraft engine at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

”"Today a terrible incident occurred," the airport writes on X.

The plane was a KLM plane that was en route to Denmark, writes the Dutch The Telegraph.

The plane was reportedly about to take off, and thus the engines were running. There were reportedly many witnesses to the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently unclear.
