Bergamo airport has been closed after a person was sucked into an aircraft engine and died, reports say Corriere della Sera.

According to the newspaper, it ran onto the runway while a plane was preparing for takeoff. 

It is unclear how the person got onto the track. 

Air traffic at the airport has been suspended since 10:20 a.m. today.
