Even though his hotel chain Nordic Choice has profiled itself as a green company, owner Petter Stordalen is now taking over a company in the maligned aviation industry. 
”I don't think the solution is shame,” says Petter Stordalen. 

Petter Stordalen, together with Altor and TDR, is buying the Swedish charter company Ving. It is a company in an industry that has recently come under fire for humanity's high carbon dioxide emissions. At the same time, it is an owner that runs a hotel chain, Nordic Choice, which has profiled itself as green. 

How does it work?
”"The simple answer is: Ving is perhaps the world's most sustainable travel company today. They climate compensate for the entire journey from A to Z. We will continue to do so," says Petter Stordalen. 

He also highlights the future possibilities of using biofuel in flights as a possible solution to the company's climate problems. 

”In the future, aviation will become much more sustainable,” he says.

In the future yes, but how is it going right now?
”"Several companies have already started to blend biofuel. I have read reports that in practice you can use almost 50 percent biofuel in flights already today," says Petter Stordalen.

Will you incorporate 50 percent biofuel into Ving's plan going forward?
”"First, we will take over the company and carry on Ving's 60-year tradition. Ving's sustainability work is the best in the industry and we will continue to do so," says Petter Stordalen.

Do you feel flight shy?
”"I don't think the solution is shame. I think the solution is to find new solutions and I think we will soon see that aviation becomes more environmentally friendly and that it runs on other types of fuel," he says.
