A plane traveling between Tel Aviv and Istanbul was forced to make an emergency landing after passengers reported a cyberattack on the plane, Reuters reports.
Several of the people on board received pictures of plane crashes on their phones.
When the plane landed, it turned out that it was not a cyberattack, but nine people who had sent pictures via the Airdrop function to other passengers.
The nine people are now suspected of spreading false information and face a prison sentence of up to three years.
