An American pilot is being charged with knowingly providing false information to the FAA about the autopilot system on Boeing's 737-Max model.
His information led to the system not being included in manuals for flight training pilots, which had fatal consequences when two aircraft crashed in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2018 and 2019 after the system was self-activated.
A total of 346 people died in the accidents.
