Norwegian and the pilots' union (NPU) must reach an agreement by midnight on Saturday – otherwise they will go on strike. The pilots' demands: 600,000 kronor more in annual salary.

Mediation between the two parties has begun, but so far no solution has been agreed upon. On one side is Norwegian's management, on the other side is the pilots' union (NPU).

The union has threatened to take 17 pilots on strike starting this weekend, the number of pilots affected will then gradually increase.

According to Norwegian TV2, the pilots are now demanding a pay increase of around half a million Norwegian kroner. Today they earn around 1.3 million kroner, but the demands are a 40 percent pay increase over two years.

”"We work six out of nine weekends and have the highest workload during the periods when you want to be off, summer, autumn holidays and during Christmas and other holidays. We need to achieve a better agreement when it comes to work and private life," says Alf Hansen at NPU to the news agency NTB.
