Two pilots on an Ethiopian Airlines plane fell asleep at an altitude of 11,000 meters and thus missed landing the plane as planned, writes BBC

The plane took off from Sudan on Monday and was due to land in Addis Ababa.

When the pilots woke up, they were able to land on the second attempt.

The pilots have been placed on leave pending an investigation.
