A plane from Rovaniemi en route to Geneva was forced to make an emergency landing at Arlanda after a smoke alarm in the cabin.

At 8:41 p.m., the plane, from the airline Easyjet, was able to descend for landing.

– Given that there is smoke in the cabin, we are taking it as a serious incident, but the pilots are calm, said Lars Nilsson at the Maritime and Air Rescue Center initially.

There were 115 people on board the plane, an Airbus A320.

Rescue services, ambulance and police were called to the scene, but were able to leave without taking any action.

– There was a faint, faint smell of smoke in the cabin, says Lars Nilsson.
