The Norwegian plane from Oslo to Munich had to turn around shortly after reaching the Skagerak.

In addition, the plane was forced to circle to waste fuel, so as not to be too heavy when it landed again.

All the toilets on board were out of order, it was discovered when the plane took off. And despite over sixty plumbers boarding at Gardermoen, the problem could not be fixed in the air.

– We would have liked to have fixed the toilets, but unfortunately it had to be done from the outside, and we didn't take the chance to send a plumber out on a rope at an altitude of 10,000 meters, Frank Olsen, administrative manager at the plumbing company Rørkjøp, stated to Daily Paper.

Rare, technical error

Norwegian's communications advisor Fatima Elkadi assures that it doesn't often happen that the toilets are turned off at the same time.

– It was a technical error. It is rare for these types of errors to occur, she notes. NRK.

There were a total of 85 people on the plane from the Norwegian plumbing industry, of which over 60 were plumbers.
