Plane has crashed in Congo-Kinshasa

A small plane with around 15 passengers has crashed in a densely populated area near the airport in Goma in Congo-Kinshasa, the airline Busy Bee and witnesses report.

Several people have died, the governor of North Kivu province announced in a statement.

The Dornier-228 plane had just taken off at 9 a.m. and was en route to the city of Beni, which is 350 kilometers north of Goma.

It is not known how many people lost their lives in the crash.
