Police investigate mass forgery of Covid certificates

A travel agency in Malmö is suspected of having forged Covid certificates for travelers who need to prove that they do not carry the coronavirus.

It reports Southern Swedish, whose sources say that the certificates are sold cheaply when a person books a trip at the agency or through its partners.

The travel agency is said to have used an original certificate that was scanned into a computer, where names and social security numbers had been replaced in several cases.

”"I am extremely concerned and outraged by the total disrespect that these criminals show towards the health and safety of their fellow human beings," Simon Pålsson, chief physician whose signature the travel agency falsely used, tells the newspaper.

The police have opened a preliminary investigation into serious document forgery. The travel agency denies the allegations.
