Between May 10 and December 31 this year, the fee for an application for a new national ID card is SEK 100. This is a temporary reduction that only applies if you are not applying for a passport at the same time.
The police are now announcing that the fee for applying for a new national ID from January 1, 2023 will return to the original fee of SEK 400, and will apply regardless of when the appointment was booked.
