A British police officer has been suspended after a video clip was shared showing him kicking and stomping on a man's head at Manchester Airport.

The police officer will be suspended from his duties after a "thorough review of further information" about the incident, the police announced, reports the BBC.

Manchester Police said armed officers had previously been knocked to the ground while attempting to make an arrest following a fight at the airport. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening.

Hundreds of people protested outside Rochdale police station outside Manchester on Wednesday over the incident, with police saying they understood the "deep concerns and worries" from the public after the video was released.
