At least three people – two police officers and a suspected perpetrator – have been killed in what is being described as a terrorist attack at an airport in Colombia.
The airport is located in Cúcuta, a city near the border with Venezuela. Silvano Serrano, governor of the state of Norte de Santander, said two explosive devices were detonated at the airport early Tuesday morning local time.
The first explosion killed a suspected perpetrator who was carrying the bomb. When police officers intervened, the second explosion occurred.
No motive has been announced yet. Colombian President Iván Duque wrote on Twitter that steps are being taken to locate those responsible as soon as possible.
