After the spring pass chaos, there are now many free pass times, the police announce.

The police therefore urge all those eager to travel, who will soon need to get a new passport, to take advantage now. 

"It has been a stressful situation recently and the staff has worked hard to meet the needs. We can now see some relief in terms of the availability of appointments to apply for passports or national ID cards. We would therefore like to urge everyone who is thinking of traveling in the spring or summer to apply for travel documents now. This is to reduce waiting times once the next high season starts," says Morgan Orvenholt, command manager for the regional special event in Region West, in a press release.

But even though there are many available shifts now, some problems with long delivery times remain. 

The reason is said to be problems with the supplier of passport books.

– Currently up to 60 days. We continuously publish current delivery times on polisen.se. We also see that there are many who do not collect their passports and that we may ultimately have to cancel passports that are lying around.
