Police: People are booking and selling passport times

Remove

In many parts of the country, it is difficult to book an appointment to renew your passport. In some cities, it can take until September before you get an appointment.

In Linköping, people have started booking appointments and then reselling them, reports Corrin. This is possible because the bookings are not linked to a specific person in their system, Ann-Sofie Nystrand, group manager at the Linköping police authority, told the newspaper. She believes that it is immoral to sell appointments in this way because the service is supposed to be free of charge.

However, it is not a crime to book an appointment and then transfer it to someone else.
