The heat wave is causing prices to plummet for last-minute trips, reports TT.
Due to record high demand, a weak krona and high fuel prices, going abroad has been an expensive affair so far this year. However, in the past two weeks, there has been a break in the trend, and prices for last-minute trips to classic summer destinations around the Mediterranean have plummeted by up to 31 percent.
– After a long period of high prices, we see that the price of both last-minute trips and late-summer trips has decreased significantly in recent weeks, says Vincent Goodbrand, PR and communications manager at Ticket.
Right now, it is possible to get a full week's vacation with direct flights and mid-range hotels to places like Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria for under 3,000 SEK per person.
