Flying between continents will not be a possibility for commercial travelers until the fourth quarter, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), according to CNBC.
”Four weeks ago, the sector was in a complete disaster with a very pessimistic outlook and a very pessimistic vision for the future,” IATA Director General Alexandre de Juniac said on a CNBC program.
He added that some optimism has been regained in the past two weeks, especially in Europe and the United States.
Alexandre de Juniac also said that shorter flights, for example between European countries, will probably be possible this summer.
Yesterday it was reported that IATA is predicting a loss for the airline industry of up to $84 billion in 2020.
