Qatar Airways is considering buying into German airline Lufthansa, Qatar Airways CEO Akbar al-Baker told the DPA news agency, Reuters reports.
”"If there is an opportunity to invest in Lufthansa, we would like to do so," Akbar Al-Baker told DPA on Sunday.
Qatar Airways is also looking at a possible partnership with Lufthansa.
”Germany is a very important country for us, both in terms of air transport and in terms of tourism development,” said Akbar Al-Baker.
Lufthansa shares are trading up 1.0 percent on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange after Sunday's announcement.
