Snälltåget will run night trains two days a week this summer between Gothenburg and Jämtland during the period July 16 - August 17. The train departs from Malmö and goes via Lund, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Gothenburg C, Skövde, Stockholm and Uppsala to Östersund, Undersåker, Åre, Duved, Enafors and Storlien.
– This summer we are offering the option of night trains between Western Sweden and Jämtland and hope for a positive reception and many travelers, says Marco Andersson, Commercial Manager for Snälltåget.
Departures north will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays and south on Thursdays and Sundays. Snälltåget also offers transfers by bus to Vålådalen and Storulvån Mountain Stations. The entire trip can be purchased at Snälltåget.se today.
Snälltåget also has a luggage trolley on departures to Jämtland, which means you can check in your bicycle or larger luggage.
Snälltåget has investigated the possibility of more traffic in the summer of 2025, but notes that major track work such as the connection of the station in Varberg for four weeks until mid-July and several completely closed weekends in August and September on the Gothenburg - Alingsås route make it impossible to come up with reasonable alternatives.
– The work to develop a traffic plan for the winter of 2025/26 is ongoing and we have had and will have more meetings with stakeholders, continues Marco.
