The unusually rainy and unstable summer affected Skara Sommarland's visitor numbers. The park closed its gates on August 20th and the number of guests landed at a total of 210,869, a decrease of approximately 65,000 guests compared to the previous year.

On June 3, Skara Sommarland opened its gates with a new attraction, BadringsBumpers, and weather forecasts that promised an unusually warm summer. And with hindsight, it turned out to be so. For southern Europe. But at home, the summer was an unsteady story and the rainiest in a very long time. Combined with the uncertain economic situation for households, this led to an impact on visitor numbers, with a total of 210,869 guests visiting the park, which is a decrease of about 65,000 guests compared to the previous year.

– There is probably nothing more wonderful than spending time with the family at Skara Sommarland on a warm and sunny summer day, but that also means that we are more sensitive to bad weather, which has been abundant this summer. We need to broaden the range of activities throughout the park, so that there are more activities to enjoy when the weather is not on our side. This year we had a new indoor attraction, BadringsBumpers, and this is something we must continue to develop in the future, says Skara Sommarland CEO Christine Karmfalk.

According to the press release.
