The Spanish pilots' union announced on Wednesday that Ryanair pilots will go on strike for five days next month, writes Reuters.
It is already clear that the low-cost airline's cabin crew are also going on strike.
The Spanish pilots' union Sepla announced on Wednesday that it would call a strike for Ryanair pilots for five days in September. The reason is to protest against the Irish company's plans to close several bases in the country from January onwards, including those in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, which jeopardises a total of 500 jobs.
A spokesperson for Sepla has told Reuters that the strike affects 900 pilots, and the five dates involved are September 19th, 20th, 22nd, 27th, and 29th. Several of these dates coincide with the strike announced by the company's cabin crew a week ago.
For the Swedish market, Ryanair flies to Spanish destinations from the airports of Landvetter, Skavsta, Västerås and Växjö.
